Reporting to the VAT Manager for Iberia, this position will:- Oversee the VAT controllership support provided to businesses in Portugal & Spain
- Deliver VAT/GST controllership, reporting and related services to GE businesses
- Ensure that all VAT/GST returns and associated statistical filings for client businesses are filed and paid on time
- Complete a program of risk-based reviews of business VAT/GST returns and associated processes to ensure accuracy of filings- Analysis of VAT/GST documents for accuracy using thorough and in-depth knowledge of VAT/GST regulations
- Provide support during inspections and queries from local tax authorities
- Communicate with business unit , tax leaders and other sub-contracted support functions
- Drive standardization, automation and process improvements to ensure VAT/GST compliance
- Work with tax, finance and other sub-contracted support functions to document and support all significant VAT/GST reporting
- Support development and recommendation of VAT/GST operational processes and internal policies
- Training of finance, business and other sub-contracted support functions on the use of the GE on-line VAT/GST return tool
- Fee and SLA agreement with all client businesses and management of finances including budgets and cost liquidations
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of VAT/GST experience with key focus on Portugal and/or Spain VAT/GST compliance and statistical declarations.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in Portuguese and/or Spanish and English
Proven ability to work cross-functionally.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
